She Grinds Pretty: Shoe Designer Ganesia Wveighlin

Get to know Ganesia Wveighlin as we chat with her about her shoe line, travel, and how she stays motivated!

What made you want to start your own luxury shoe brand?

I initially started CaesarWalks designing my own shoes that I wanted to wear. From there it grew to what we are presently.

You have an impressive fan base. Do you have a specific woman or man in mind when designing CaesarWalks?

I design for the bold fashion consumers. The young at heart.

Who or what inspires you?

No one thing inspires me. I have a list a mile long that I pull inspiration from and sometimes it’s as simple as a verse in a song.

So how did you learn the craft of making shoes?

I first learned in Brooklyn, NY in a shoemaker’s workshop. I am still continuing my education.

What do you consider your biggest accomplishment thus far?

Being a step on the ladder of cultural progress. Also being a mentor and sharing the  knowledge that I have acquired through my own journey.

How do you start your creative process?

My creative process is everything but linear. Some days I go walk around in nature.  Some days I flip through a vintage Int'l Vogue book.

What has been your most popular shoe style?

The most popular shoe style is our classic velvet black loafer and our leather Chelsea Boot.  Those styles are running neck and neck.

Where do you like to shop in London, Paris, and NYC?

I often eat more than I shop in London and Paris. In NYC I am mostly stopping by may favorite black-owned stores like Coco and Breezy Eyewear and The Brooklyn Circus

What’s next for CaesarWalks?

More designs, more innovation and more style.

How do you Grind Pretty?

By making time for self-care to rejuvenate.  Whether that is hiking a trail or baptizing in beach water.
